Diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases

Autoimmune disease is a broad category of skin and systemic diseases that can vary from relatively benign to extremely serious and potentially life threatening.  What these conditions have in common is that in each disease the body attacks and destroys some part of itself.  An intricate knowledge of the numerous types of autoimmune disease and their specific features aids our Dermatologist in diagnosing and treating these complicated diseases.  With appropriate treatment and close follow-up most of these conditions can be well managed.
