Dr. William R. Widmer, MS, DVM, Diplomate ACVR

Dr. Widmer graduated from Purdue University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1969. After private practice in Massachusetts and Indiana, he returned to Purdue and completed a residency training program in veterinary radiology and earned a Master of Science degree in 1986.

Following certification by the American College of Veterinary Radiology, Dr. Widmer joined the faculty of the School of Veterinary Medicine, attaining the rank of full professorship in 1998. He has authored or co-authored over 60 scientific publications, taught significant segments of 12 college courses and participated in over 50 research projects.

In addition, he has also conducted a radiology consultation practice serving Indiana veterinary practitioners over the past 20 years. Combined experiences in academia and private practice give Dr. Widmer valuable insight for addressing the imaging needs of pet owners and referring veterinarians.
